Land in Paris with The Balla – their second single is an escape to another life

With The Balla’s second single, Paris, out January 23, Izzy Hayden had an early listen to the infectious new track from one of Liverpool’s fastest-growing bands.

Riff-heavy Merseyside group The Balla have already been racking up streams on their debut release, I’m Not A Number, a track oozing sharp guitar riffs and bold drum patterns over a social commentary about how hard it is to simply live.

Now they’re landing in France as their second song, Paris, is released into the world.

Produced by Ben Harper at the Motor Museum in Liverpool, the track is once again striking with infectious bass hooks, but that’s where the similarities end.

This time around, the vibe is much more upbeat and stage-ready, with lyrics ‘just feel fine, look at all the people sipping wine, forgetting space and time’ portraying escaping and simply enjoying life.

Big things are already happening for the group, who already have the confidence it takes most bands years to find.

In under a year, The Balla have impressively amassed over 20,000 streams, played sold-out gigs in Liverpool and landed on multiple small festival lineups.

The band said: “This tune feels like a turning point for us, a more accurate representation of who we are, it always lands live, so we wanted to bottle that energy in the studio.”

Their commitment is clear and they actually did go to Paris to “sample the culture,” proving that the group really does just enjoy sharing moments together.
