Friday release round-up – Banners, Rivia, Casino & more

Don’t miss out on any of the latest music from Merseyside! Here’s information on some of the best new releases from Liverpool and beyond over the last couple of weeks.

Published December 5, 2025.

Picks of the week

Something In The Water – RIVIA

Having supported The Wombats, Arkayla and played at the Isle of Wight, RIVIA’s talents are hardly a well-kept secret.

Now, though, the release of single Something In The Water should produce a platform for them to really kick on in 2026, with the new track arguably their strongest yet.

The addition of bassist and backing vocalist Rosh Carlin has really added a new dimension to the group, making them more memorable than your standard punk rock group.

The chorus is excellently written and leaves you wanting more, using Carlin’s backing as the perfect echo and compliment to Matt Sloan’s lead vocals.

Raise Your Colours – BANNERS

BANNERS is always ready to give you a lift when down. Raise Your Colours offers that boost in confidence we all need in a world of instant judgements.

It is a song calling for individuals to stand up and embrace their quirks.

The combination of acoustic guitar, piano and prevalent toms gives BANNERS’ tracks an anthemic quality which seems to have the power to unite a crowd.
