Don’t miss out on any of the latest music from Merseyside! Here’s information on some of the best new releases from Liverpool and beyond this week.

James Dean – The Kowloons
Like James Dean, The Kowloons’ latest single leads a short but sweet life and has that often-elusive quality of sounding familiar to new listeners while being unmistakably them.
With a hook line (‘I said what I said, did what I did’) that lends itself to be being belted out in unison, this song has stood out to live fans for a while as a favourite.
In contrast to some of the group’s earliest releases, the rhythm guitar does the bulk of the work as the track rises and falls to great effect and manages to build anticipation for the choruses despite the short runtime.

Keep It On The Low – The Kairos
The Liverpool rockers are back with another tune that sounds incredible live. This band’s ascension on the scene isn’t showing any signs of slowing.

Michael (What’s Your Call?) & High to High – Keyside
Michael is a beautiful song that is perhaps the band’s rawest offering to date, but High to High shouldn’t be forgotten either with chorus-infused guitar tones complementing the melodies perfectly.
Keyside are very much their own entity, but High to High might be their most La’s-sounding track yet – no bad thing, of course!

Pocket Rocket – Sam Millne & the Virants
Sam Millne & the Virants are back with their biggest sounding single yet, and you should definitely listen 😉
With influence taken from the likes of The Royston Club, The Cheap Thrills and The Night Café, this is a track for almost anyone to enjoy, no matter their usual musical preference.

I Found You – Ellie Burke
I Found You may be fairly stripped back, but it still packs a punch thanks to the thoughtful lyrics that seem to hypnotise the listener from the outset.

Veronica – Ava Fitz
Even as a teenager, Ava Fitz knows how to write a tune. The way her latest release, Veronica, has evolved from an acoustic track into a full-band recording showcases an exciting vision for her sound.

Reverie of Isolation – Brad Kella
Classical music in the UK has a fresh face in Brad Kella. This Liverpudlian is helping to bring it closer to the mainstream and you won’t question why after hearing his latest three releases.

Ghost – John-Paul Connor
With every release, John-Paul Connor shows another side to his musical talents, Ghost beginning with an almost-experimental humming akin to something Paul Simon might have written.

Memory Lane (radio edit) – The Stamp
Another taster of big things to come from The Stamp! The radio edit of Memory Lane is out now and their always-excellent free gigs are continuing at District.
