New Music Friday – Tom Rogan, Claire Welles & more

Don’t miss out on any of the latest music from Merseyside! Here’s a list of some of the best new releases from Liverpool and beyond this week.

Published December 15, 2023.

Is That Alright? – Tom Rogan

In typical Tom Rogan fashion, the track hits you straight away and is into the catchy chorus quickly.

Echoes of his song, Four Leaf Clover, exist in the pace of the tune but this is a development on Rogan’s musical journey.

If You’re All Alone This Christmas It’s Probably Your Fault – Claire Welles

This isn’t your typical festive release.

Inspired by the Ghost of Christmas from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the lyrics provides a haunting view of the festive period while retaining the same customary sounds from this time of year.

The Line – Evil Pink Machine

The repetitive-but-powerful synth carries the song through its verses into the chorus, which takes on more of a melody.

It’s hard to define the song’s genre, but it definitely flows into a rock sound by the end with the impressive lead guitar outro.

Osha – Love N Coda

From Liverpool producer, the track starts with a rapid drumbeat but moves into a surprisingly relaxing state.

The chimes really add something to make this release different to others of the genre.

Spaceship Dreams – David James Robertson

The song doesn’t quite stray into the psychedelic realm, but it’s a track that will appeal to those who like to get taken away by music and let it encompass their body.

By the end, Robertson is back with his overdriven guitar to leave you wanting more.
