With a highly-anticipated album in the works, the release information for Cast’s new LP has been revealed.
It will be the first time the band have released anything since their 2017 album, Kicking Up the Dust.
The new album, which is yet to be titled, will be out early in 2024.
Writing on Twitter/X, frontman John Power told a fan that the new album would be out “Early New Year.”
Power added that the album is complete and that he is “blown away” by the finished product.
It is exciting news for fans of the group, who enjoyed their most succesful period in the late 1990s.
Originally a part of another fantastic group, Power formed Cast in 1992 after The La’s split. He was joined by Peter Wilkinson, who was previously in Shack as well as Michael Head’s group, The Pale Fountains, and Echo & The Bunnymen – he is no longer a part of Cast, leaving in 2015.
With three brilliant albums between 1995 and 2000, the band made the decision to split in 2001 but reformed 10 years later and have since continued to tour.
In October, John Power will embark on an English and Scottish tour, playing 15 locations.
